Well, I think he will be all right. He had to have surgery on his right eye. The orbit was broken and some of the eye muscles and fatty tissue below his eye had dropped down into his sinus cavity, locking his eye in the "up" position. The eye now tracks with the other one and his vision is improving. He's still on pain killers for the bruising and surgery so he has dizzy spells and sleeps a lot.
He flew home to Atlanta, Georgia this morning. His employer has a network of people set up to keep an eye on him and help him out at home until he heals.
It's been eight days since the accident and the cops keep saying the accident report isn't ready yet. I'm beginning to suspect there is something funny going on. I don't know what yet but I will find out.
The HD Road Kill is now the property of Dairyland Insurance. No word yet on how much they will give him for it but I'm sure it won't be enough to replace the bike.
Watch out for the drunks. You don't want to end up as a hood orniment on a Datsun pick-um-up-truck.
